For the last week I have been doing my placement for Uni. I am working for a fashion designer in Iceland called Jet Korine and it has been wonderful. She has a shop called Gloria on Laugavegur and it is so amazing. The work has been very exciting and I will continue working there for the next 6 weeks. Mostly I have been in the studio sewing but I also had the chance to work in the shop and observe the whole process. The clothing are all natural and sustainable. It is so wonderful to work with these amazing materials! The studio is very small but gorgeous! I have never worked in such inspiring work place! The people I am working for is so creative and inspiring, everyday I am learning something new. Here are some of my photos on Instagram (larainwonderland90)
My absolutely favorite show at Reykjavik Fashion Festival was Farmers Market. The Icelandic national vibe of the show was overwhelming, but in a good way. The show started completely dark, all of the sudden you could hear sound of water, or rain, and then it actually started raining, you did not get wet but you could feel the spray of water in the air. At the end of the runway a large live image of “skogar” waterfall came up and the models walked the runway, slowly with live music. The whole show was so inspiring. The clothing were stunning, mostly wool, fur and silks.
I am LOVING Zara at the moment. The store is packed with wonderful treasures. They are absolutely killing it! It is amazing how Zara is always on top of the newest trend and runway styles. Still they keep the prices really good.
I am seriously crushing on Black/Whites!! Might go out shopping to day, to be fair it is my birthday.
Have a lovely day everyone!
I finally got my package from Weekday. I have always wanted a pair of Cheap Monday Jeans and now I can finally say I am a proud owner of one. I bought them on the online store Weekday, it is brilliant! if you love Swedish design, check it out!
While in Milan I came across this amazing Vintage shop, Cavalli&Nastri. It is located on Via Brera, close to the Duomo. I fell in love with it, it was very small, but so decorative and colorful. It had some amazing designer clothing, Prada, Chanel, Jill Sanders, Yves Saint Laurent and so many more treasures. I did not buy anything, it was my last day and I did not have any money left, silly me, but if I ever go back I will definitely do some shopping there. I truly recommend this place to anyone visiting Milan in near future, you will not be disappointed, the stuff in there is amazing and plus, the prices were really good.
